Sfx for beginners 2014, Newham
I love running this workshop. It's so much fun and the students always have great imagination, and so much energy. They made some great spooky horror props, a selection of which are above...
It's been a while since my last post! For the last year or so I have been working for Punchdrunk doing various different jobs, including prop reseting, a bit of work in the design department- painting a new 1:1 room, face painting and working as part of the fix it team which included painting the ice palace mounds to make sure they were slippy/grippy enough for the performers to dance on. I have not had much time for anything else, although I have been focusing on my illustration as well which you can see here viclefox and here victoriafox
I've just finished running a SFX workshop in Newham, as part of the Summer Academy scheme. The students made some amazing, imaginative work as always; severed fingers; monster gloves and flourescent vomit to name just a few..
Still from "Jewfro" Dir: Alex Norris.
I was co special effects make up artist on this short film by Alex Norris about a brawl that happens in an East End barber shop. I created an eye wound as seen in the pictures above.
I have just finished making a giant ear for Gonzo Moose Theatre. I sculpted it in wet clay, made a plaster mould and then cast it in cold cure latex. I'd never used this before and it was great. Then i airbrushed the ear with an oil paint/fixogum mix, also using my brush to flick on paint so it wouldn't look too 'painted'.
I have also recently finished working on a film by brothers Naeem and Ash Mahmood of Transient Film Exchange. A gangster feature set in London; I found myself on location at Hammersmith and Fulham Morgue surrounded by real dead bodies.. spooky. Here's the charred and crispy arm I created.
